Our Dark Skies
The International Dark-Sky Association, founded in 1988, is an educational, environmental 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural nighttime environment through environmentally responsible lighting while honoring our human heritage of dark skies.
The Town of Crestone became an internationally recognized Dark Sky Community in 2020.
